Jeypore Rain Forest: Kingdom of the Crickets.

The Jeypore Rainforest, located in Dibrugarh district of Assam is home to a variety of wildlife species, which includes many endangered ones. Around 46 species of mammals, 283 species of birds, large varieties of butterflies and numerous species of orchids, reptiles and amphibians, dragonflies and damselflies have been recorded to be present here.

The reserve lie within the vicinity of tea plantations, agriculture and human settlements. The forest type is Assam Valley Tropical Wet Evergreen forest and the landscape is part of the Dehing-Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary. The forest is home to different species of birds like Lesser Adjutant Stork, White Winged Wood Duck, White-backed Vulture, Slender-billed Vulture, White-cheeked Hill Partridge, Khaleej Pheasant, Gray Peacock-Pheasant, Rufus necked Hornbill, Wreathed Hornbill, Great Pied Hornbill, Beautiful Nuthatch, Black-browed Leaf Warbler, Green Imperial Pigeon, Pale-capped Pigeon etc.
